It seems like everyone has some sort of story to tell. Well, I guess I am no different. I started making jar candles 12 years ago on a small campfire burner in the middle of 90 degree weather. I did this for a long time. My husband felt sorry for me and asked if a melter would help. I was flabbergasted. Something out there can make my life easier. Why not! Yes, I did get that melter, one, two and later a third one.
My family has been great, especially my son, who sold my candles out of shoe boxes. We didn't have much when we first started, and we didn't know if people would like our candles. Twelve years later we still are making candles and now are selling them out of the store which my husband bought for me. But, now we are putting them in bags with ribbon as gifts when people buy them. Yes, things have changed. I have a lot to be grateful for. My son-in-law named my business "Candles in the Attic". My granddaughter helps with the paperwork, my husband is the financial supplier, my daughter gives me moral support, and my son still is my personal rep who sells my candles.
